Clear answers to common GLP-1 questions

What to know about approval, payment, side effects, body composition, and long-term treatment.

Can GLP-1 treatment affect my hair?

Hair loss has been reported in clinical trials. Rapid weight loss, reduced protein or micronutrient intake, hormonal changes, and possibly the medication may contribute. Tell your provider about shedding or thinning so other causes and your treatment plan can be assessed. Vitamins are not guaranteed to prevent hair loss.

Will I lose muscle?

Some lean-mass loss can occur during substantial weight loss, with or without medication. Lean mass is not the same as skeletal muscle. Ask your provider about adequate nutrition and protein, appropriate resistance exercise, and monitoring. No program can guarantee zero muscle loss.

Is compounded medication the same as Wegovy or Zepbound?

No. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved generics, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness, or quality before marketing. If prescribed, your dispensing documents and label identify the pharmacy, formulation, concentration, dose, storage instructions, and beyond-use date.

What happens before my card is charged?

A licensed provider reviews your intake and decides whether treatment is appropriate. The exact prescribed plan, total due today, billing schedule, and renewal terms should be shown before a medication charge is finalized. If no medication is prescribed, no medication charge is owed.

What does cancellation do?

Cancellation stops future renewals when received before the next billing date. It does not automatically refund a charge already billed or unused time in a prepaid term. Any separate written promotional terms shown before purchase control.

Can weight return after I stop?

Weight regain can occur after GLP-1 treatment ends, and clinical withdrawal studies show substantial average regain for many participants. Individual results vary. Discuss maintenance, dose changes, or discontinuation with your provider rather than stopping without a plan.

What if an injectable arrives warm or damaged?

Do not use it until the dispensing pharmacy or care team confirms what to do. Contact support immediately with photos of the package, label, medication, and any temperature indicator supplied.

Who provides care and medication?

MedicLab provides the telehealth platform and support. Independent licensed providers make prescribing decisions, and an independent licensed pharmacy dispenses any prescribed medication. Completing an assessment does not guarantee a prescription.

This is general information, not medical advice. Prescription treatment may not be appropriate for everyone, and individual results vary. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. For complete details, read the MedicLab FAQs, subscription terms, and return and refund policy. In an emergency, call 911.
